Identify issues of economic, political, and social importance to education and coordinate the work of the many agencies that support education. Per Resolution #24041, all member terms are 2 years with a max of 6 consecutive terms. 12 year term limit. Formerly known as the Metropolitan Education Commission (MEC), the Southern Arizona Education Council shall fulfill the regional functions under a mission to empower a more educated and engaged community by connecting learners to opportunities to thrive with purpose.
